American Idol is a drawcard for young talent and this show attracts millions of viewers around the globe. Australians especially enjoy watching their young artists perform in talent shows which can also attract millions of viewers. I recall being in a staff room where the talent in the last episode of ‘Australian Idol’ and ‘Australia’s Got Talent’ was dissected in minute detail throughout the lunch break. Anyone with talent can come and have a go – this is how we learned of Guy Sebastian.
And Mark Vincent who bowled them over on Australia’s Got Talent.
Both singers have gone on to successful singing careers. Guy Sebastian, an Evangelical Protestant sings both secular and sacred songs and performed the official, very peaceful song for Sydney’s World Youth Day in 2008. And Mark Vincent has been called the world’s newest opera sensation and is going from strength to strength.
It seems Malaysia is attempting to garner talent too – but not in the broad range of the arts as the above programs do – but in imam performance. If you can recite the Koran well you are in the running for Malaysian Young Imam contest which was broadcast live to millions in Malaysia recently [Malaysia is 60% Muslim] by the Muslim lifestyle satellite channel Astro Oasis .
While millions tune in to American Idol and Canadians…, Malaysians are entranced by a very different kind of TV competition. The hit show in that Southeast Asian country is Young Imam, a contest that pits ten men against each other to become the Muslim country’s next young religious leader (source) 
But let it not be said that this contest was only restricted to reciting the Koran - it opened itself to other activities like contests at slaughtering sheep and washing dead bodies. Just imagine what a fun time it must have been.
In Friday's live TV final, Muhammad Asyraf saw off the last of nine other contestants vying to win Young Imam. He had survived 10 weeks of written and practical tests, which included reciting Koran verses, washing a dead body for burial and slaughtering sheep. Will it be turned into a full length movie with curved slaughtering knives and all? Other possibilities come to mind. What about a live beheading infidels contest? Perhaps audiences are not ready for beheading contests yet but give it time.
So far this novel contest has not come to Australia but if it does it will not gain my attention – I’ll stick to those who truly promote human creativity in song, dance and other forms of artistic expressions-I especially love sheepdog contests so beloved of Australians who have a special relationship with their kelpies in the bush. In so many areas of artistic endeavour, the western world has always been more open to human achievement and seen it as a manifestation of its spirit.

However, the imitation of western ‘idol’ contests may be a reflection of the fact that some western media is infiltrating Islam. Apparently Oprah is broadcast to millions in the Muslim world.
While Oprah is no real representative of western values as expressed in the Judeo-Christian traditions, her interviews and welcoming of talent gain large Muslim audiences who probably nave never quite seen anything like this before. IN a strange way Oprah is infiltrating the Muslim world. And if she can other western programs can too.
However I can think of the perfect antidote to the Young Imam contest. Forget Oprah. It is the Western Young Islam Rebuttal Contest where the Father Zakariah Boutros Prize is awarded annually for the best exposure of Islam’s inconsistencies, contradictions and plain incomprehensibility. Fr Zakariah’s expert analysis of the ‘Disasters of the Koran’ could be the model to follow.

There will be no dead bodies, no animal slaughter involved. The first prize will be a trip to Israel, any other desired countries and a lucrative book contract to print the analysis which will be aimed at releasing Muslims from the irrationality of Islam.

I especially feel sorry for the children who sway back and forth, like zombies, as they memorize the satanic Qur'an in a tongue that they don't understand. That's truly satanic and a great waste of time. I never knew, or even dreamed, that Islamism is the stupidest and most violent ideology until after 9/11 when I began studying Islamism.
Because some of you are good people, you are doing yourselves a disservice by remaining in this evil ideology called Islamism. You are not practicing what Islamism demands of you, so in a sense, you are not "good" Muslims. Only the very evil Muslims are actually practicing Islamism and what the Qur'an demands of them. Since you are not an authentic Muslim, why don't you call yourselves something else?
Here in the States, more and more people are learning what Islamism demands of their members. In some places, many people moan or go "ugh" when they hear about Islamism. Only yesterday, Islamism and the Filthy Rabid Animal Shariah were taking their lumps in talk radio that was reaching millions of listeners. More and more Americans are becoming informed about the great evil of the Filthy Rabid Animal Shariah, and the wicked Qur'an. Already the Filthy Rabid Animal Shariah has been outlawed, shot dead, in the State of Louisiana and will soon be outlawed in the State of Oklahoma. So Nice Muslims, I'm asking you to disassociate yourselves from that monster called Islam. Since you are Nice Muslims, why don't you call yourselves something else, anything but Muslim? Surely they will include the following challenges for the best young Imam:
1.Performing the best FGM on ten girls
2.Weapons skill test with infidel as targets
3.Skills in hiding weapons in the mosque
4.Conducting punishment according to Sharia, including lashings for women drinkers, cutting off hands and feet and of course, stoning women for adultery
5.Best hate speech against Jews and Christians in the Mosque
6.Jihad planning skills
7.How to lie to the media skills etc.
They need their Imams to be well rounded, don’t they?
Frankly I don’t think the Father Boutros award will get much traction in Islamic countries.
It will fail on test number 1 about Jesus.
Strange though that earlier Muslim scholars (ibn Ishaq) believed in the crucifixion whereas hundreds of years later, scholars like ibn Kathir did not.
There is NO doubt in my mind, that the current position on the crucifixion was evolutionary in Islam.

Muslims in the western world have the freedom to renounce islam without fear but do not renounce it. What is really the point of being a nice muslim not believing in most of the Koran and hadith aggressive and brutal messages yet not wanting to leave islam. Mohammed the founder of islam carried the sword and slaughtered people and enforced himself in the desert aligning himself with the desert outlaws to achieve his supremacy and power. The point I am trying to make is that Mohammad was good to some and bad to others, while he praised and elevated some of his followers he massacred those who did not follow. Can I call Mohammed a "nice muslim" because he was good to some.
There is no such thing as a good muslim . Renouncing islam is the only way to prove genuine belief in peace, love, and freedom. history clearly showed nice muslims capability of evil. Why would a person follow a murderer and aggressor and make of him the messenger of God?
Finally, I believe in your genuine kind words but please you need to understand the distnction between what to accept and what not to accept as truth. You cannot anymore use the western logic and line of thinking and apply that on muslims, the result will be disasterous misjudgement and massive betrayal to society. A muslim is a muslim unless converting out of islam. Make no mistake "nice muslims" as you called them will extremely disappoint you and shock you when it comes to making a stand.

longreach7 - One has to admit that there is a desire for truth and a seeking spirit in each person, to greater or lesser extents. Some Muslims have this despite being brought up in an Islamic society - and hence there are conversions. Trouble is that brainwashing can be very successful and repress this part of the human spirit. I think that many 'Muslims' don't really understand Islam and that is a good thing - for it leaves a window open to other realities. The site Faith Freedom is a testimony to that.
